San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick says he will keep sitting during the National Anthem because of injustice. Speaking to reporters yesterday, the QB said it’s an effort to bring awareness and make people realize what’s going on in the country. Kaepernick feels that cops are getting away with murdering civilians and not facing just consequences.

Hope Solo, goalkeeper for the Seattle Reign, is taking indefinite personal leave from the Washington-based professional soccer team. The team made the announcement comes less than a week after U.S. Soccer suspended her for six months and terminated her contract due to her bad behavior at the Rio Olympics. Solo called Sweden “a bunch of cowards” after they eliminated her team in the quarterfinals. She also upset Brazilians by making jokes about the Zika virus on social media during her time in Rio.

Tim McGraw became the ultimate wedding crasher this weekend. On Saturday, a couple got married in Philadelphia and during the reception, Tim McGraw surprised everyone (including the bride) when he took the stage and sang My Little Girl during the father-daughter dance. Turns out the bride’s dad had somehow managed to get Tim McGraw to play wedding singer for his daughter as a surprise. (WELL DONE DAD!) The best video of the evening, though, has to be the moment the bride realized Tim McGraw was singing for her.

Beyonce has officially surpassed Madonna for most MTV Video Music Awards of all time. The “Lemonade” singer took home eight Moon Man trophies during last night’s VMAs in New York City, bringing her total to a “VMA”-record 22. Madonna is second all-time with 20. Midway through the night, Serena Williams introduced Queen Bey for an epic, 16-minute performance of several of her “Lemonade” hits.
