The U.S. is in first place with 26 medals overall. In the gold medal count, the U.S. is in first place with 9, China is second with 8, and Australia and Hungary are in third place with 4 each.

The heavily-favored American women won the team gymnastics gold, beating second-place Russia by more than eight points, which is a record. The performance by Simone Biles, Lauren Hernandez, Gabby Douglas, Madison Kocian and Aly Raisman gave the U.S. the team gold for a second straight Olympics.

Michael Phelps won two more gold medals, bringing his Rio total to three and his total from all the Olympics he’s competed in to 21, the record by far. And he still has three more races to go in Rio. Fellow American swimmer Katie Ledecky also won another Rio gold medal, coming in first in the 200-meter freestyle.


The water in the Olympic diving pool was bright green on Tuesday, although organizers said that it did not pose any danger to health. The executive director of swimming’s world governing body FINA said the problem may have come from a faulty filter or problematic water quality. Most divers, however, said the color was no issue, even though the pool’s water was perfectly blue during the men’s 10 meter platform event on Monday.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson went on a social media ran against his male Fast & Furious 8 co-stars and it was reportedly directed at Vin Diesel. The duo reportedly even held a secret meeting in the middle of filming Tuesday in Atlanta, to try and resolve their differences. The peace talk came a day after Johnson slammed his fellow actors saying “My female co-stars are always amazing and I love ’em.  My male co-stars however are a different story.  Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t.” He went on to say “The ones that don’t are too chicken [crap] to do anything about it anyway.  Candy a****”


A guy in Spain was late for his flight, so he busted through security, ran down the bridge, JUMPED onto the tarmac, and chased his plane down the runway.  They actually stopped and let him on board . . . but he was arrested when they landed.


Is the NFL eyeing Adele as the headliner for next year’s Super Bowl halftime show? According to the UK’s The Sun, Adele is a potential candidate for the gig and organizers are doing absolutely everything they can to try to persuade her to sign up. The insider added, “It’s Adele’s nerves that are the issue — it hasn’t been an easy sell.”
