WATCH: Former NASA Engineer Creates World’s Largest NERF Gun

If you’re going to have a NERF battle, go BIG or go home.

That’s how one former NASA engineer sees it because no one ever really outgrows NERF gun battles…but they do outgrow the guns.

So former NASA engineer-turned YouTuber Mark Rober and two engineering buddies designed and built the world’s largest functional NERF gun.

It’s a giant scale-up of a classic NERF pistol that launches foam darts just like the original toy but with a bigger punch.

The Nerf gun shoots homemade darts, made from pool noodles and toilet plungers, at an impressive 40 mph.

Rober also loaded the Nerf gun with 3D-printed projectiles that were much more aerodynamic and could travel a distance of 130 yards.

And a bonus: They were able to amp up the power on the extra large Nerf gun making it capable of destroying watermelons. (Probably best not to use that gun in a fight with your siblings…)
